January , 2009

Any visitor to Thailand will soon discover that the Thai people love to have fun – yes, the Thai word ‘sanuk’ is one of the first words that most tourists learn after spending any time in the Kingdom. It should come as no surprise, therefore, that Thailand celebrates no fewer than three new year festivals: their own in April at Songkran, the western holiday at the end of the calendar year, and Chinese New Year. In 2009, the Year of the Ox arrived particularly early, at the end of January, and so Babylon patrons were given yet another excuse to revel in all the fun. Resplendent with Chinese lanterns and firecrackers adorning our resident Atlas, Sphinx and gargoyles, we hosted the first foam party of the year for more than 1,000 guests. Sexy dancers, great music, delicious food, and perfect weather all combined to make this a very memorable long weekend. Feel free to click on any of these thumbnails to see enlarged photographs of these events or watch the embedded video clip which features some highlights.
